In our search for revenue potential...

... I've noticed that the majority (read: all test samples) of amazon.com links are from spammers and contain their affiliate tags.

Would it affect anyone but the spammers if we substituted their affiliate tags with ours? Can you think of a reason why we should not do that?

Just to be clear: I'm not talking about adding the affiliate tag to links that come without one (i.e. normal "user recommends a product" links), but only those that already have one.
